Massage Services

All massages are not created equal. Here at Bmore Skybound in Baltimore, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your therapeutic goals, whether they be relaxation, stress reduction, decrease muscle tension or tightness, increase blood circulation, restore flexibility, or any of a multitude of other benefits that research has shown.

I offer an integrated massage therapy session that brings different massage modalities and techniques together. Whether you choose foot or full body massage, as a licensed therapist, I incorporate several massage modalities including deep tissue, Swedish, sports, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and reflexology to optimize your massage therapy. A brief description of the modalities are listed below.

Swedish Massage
This classic style will combine various techniques to improve circulation, promote better sleep, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well being.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue therapy aims at a deeper level of the muscle tissue and is more focused on specific areas of pain and tension.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a therapy using stretching strokes that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Connective tissues called fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Points of restriction in the fascia can place a great deal of pressure on nerves and muscles causing chronic pain. This technique aims to balance tissue and muscle mechanics and improve joint range of motion in order to relieve pain.

Trigger Point/Neuromuscular Therapy

Trigger point or neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on highly irritable and tender localized nodules in taut bands of muscle tissue. Sustained pressure is applied in intervals to effectively alleviate the nodule. Neuromuscular therapy works by encouraging blood, oxygen and lymph circulation to the muscle to relieve the restriction. The therapeutic pressure and massage typically can produce initial soreness and "good pain" in muscle tissue.

Reflexology Massage

Reflexology is an alternative treatment involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work affects a physical change to the body.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage is massage therapy but with highly concentrated plant oils, called essential oils, added to the massage oil or lotion. Aromatherapy massage is particularly suited to conditions involving stress or improving emotionally-related conditions.
